The Rights Lawyers expands its telecommunications practice with new additions
Dubai law firm The Rights Lawyers announced two recent appointments – telecommunications and IT specialist PHIL REYNOLDS as partner and LISA SMITH as senior lawyer.
Reynolds is an extremely experienced legal adviser to the telecommunications industry. In his 25+ years in the industry, he has practiced throughout SAMEA,
Australia, Asia, UK and Europe. Reynolds has continuously been at the cutting edge of world telecoms markets, working through five generations of mobile telephony as well as next generation fixed and broadband networks. He has worked in numerous key positions: as a director in two national telecommunications and competition regulatory authorities, as executive director in three Fortune 500 global telecommunications companies and as lead general counsel for three of the leading regional operators in the Middle East. He has previously practiced as a senior specialist T&T lawyer with international law firms in Australia, UK, Qatar and Dubai. He holds a number of non-executive board directorships and is the chairman of gr82tlk, a leading global MVNO consultancy.
Smith is a senior lawyer with extensive experience in both the information technology and the retail sectors, having worked within the retail industry since 1991. Prior to joining The Rights Lawyers, she was a lawyer for one of the Middle East’s largest luxury retailers, Chalhoub Group, which represents some of the world’s top luxury brands including the LVMH Group, Lacoste and Christian Louboutin. She has worked on a multitude of retail related agreements including franchise, agency and distribution for operations throughout the Middle East as well as dealing with a vast range of IT and media related matters.
