The Oath Middle East Legal Awards 2016
In Pursuit of Legal Excellence…

To recognise the legal profession’s achievements, Niche Publishers announced ‘The Oath Middle East Legal Awards’ in 2015
to felicitate law firms and general counsels who are a cut above the rest. A special evening to honour and celebrate the
accomplishments of the Middle East’s legal profession over the past year.
» The Awards honours the game changers and innovators who are revolutionising the legal landscape
of the Middle East.
» The Awards are independent and open to all law firms and registered companies in the region.
» Each category seeks entries that reflect the firm, company or individual’s high calibre and noteworthy achievements.
» The judging panel is independent and comprises of leading legal and business minds in the region, known for their exceptional
contribution to the region’s legal industry.
» The Awards follows a fair and objective judging process. Judges evaluate each category based on a comprehensive, point-based
scoring system by adhering to specific guidelines and criteria. To maintain the highest degree of fairness, accuracy and integrity, the total scores are validated by an audit firm.

GC Talk Series

A monthly breakfast seminar series hosted by the Oath with key practical insights from experts on navigating the changing legal landscape of the region.

the Oath in association with Akin Gump organised the first breakfast seminar in the GC Talk Series and focused on ‘Cyber Security & the GC’ – how general counsels and their teams can implement practical measures to enhance the cyber security of the organisation. Natasha Kohne, co-managing partner of Akin Gump Abu Dhabi, led the interactive discussion.

 

GC Rendezvous 

As part of our new initiatives this year, we are proud to present the GC Rendezvous series. the Oath will host 3-4 general counsel from the region to have a discussion over dinner about trending issues in the region. We believe the series provides an opportunity for us to reflect different perspectives to our readership on a chosen topic/theme.

The first session was on  Women in Law and Leadership: Has the glass ceiling really shattered?
