American Hospital Dubai partners with Livio in IVF joint venture

Baker McKenzie has advised American Hospital Dubai, part of Mohamed & Obaid Al Mulla Group and one of the leading private healthcare providers in the Middle East, on its joint venture agreement with Swedish in vitro fertilization (IVF) pioneer Livio AB.

Under the agreement, the joint venture will establish an IVF center with a specialized laboratory as per Livio standards. The fertility treatment center will be operated inside the American Hospital with medical expertise supplied by Livio.

With the rising demand for high quality fertility treatment in the UAE, the partnership seeks to deliver world class IVF treatment with the best possible pregnancy results in the Middle East.

The Baker McKenzie team was led by Dubai based Corporate and M&A partner Pietro de Libero along with support lawyer Nermin El Tayeb and supported by Sweden based IP partner Peder Oxhammar. “We are delighted to have been able to assist American Hospital Dubai on its partnership with Livio in an IVF joint venture in the UAE,” said Pietro de Libero. “The partnership reinforces American Hospital Dubai’s commitment to the well-being of the UAE and the region and supports the UAE’s drive to be a leading regional hub for medical tourism and an incubator for world class healthcare services.”
