DLA Piper grows ME practice

DLA Piper has expanded its Middle East employment practice with the appointment of two new team members in its Riyadh office. The appointments are reflective of the firm's increasing caseload in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Ammar Alzughaibi joins as a legal consultant following ten years of practice at the leading telecommunications operator Etihad Etisalat – Mobily, prior to which he was legal advisor at Alsalam Aircraft Company Ltd.  Alzughaibi also brings four years government sector experience from Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Labour. The team has been further bolstered with an additional trainee to support the Employment practice in Saudi Arabia.

The firm has also appointed Adam Vause as partner in the Middle East Litigation, Arbitration and Investigations practice with a focus on corporate crime, investigations and general banking litigation.

Vause has spent more than five years in the Middle East region, prior to which he was based in London. His experience includes a two year secondment at the Serious Fraud Office employed by the UK Government, working as an investigative lawyer and prosecutor, primarily focusing on white collar crime and the UK's reform of anti-Fraud and Corruption legislation. 

He brings extensive experience to the team, with specific expertise on matters relating to fraud, asset tracing and regulatory and anti-bribery investigations. Before joining DLA Piper, Vause was at Norton Rose Fulbright in Dubai, where he advised financial institutions and major corporates on wide-ranging commercial disputes.
