Morgan Lewis Represents Dubai Islamic Bank
Morgan Lewis advised Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) in connection with a AED240 million Musharaka financing made available to Park Water Limited. The agreement is the first of its kind for Park Water Limited as well as DIB’s debut partnership with a private company in the water and wastewater industry. The financing was secured by assignments of insurances, receivables and account pledges. The Morgan Lewis team advising DIB was led by Dubai-based partner Ayman A. Khaleq and senior associate Victoria Mesquita.
Morgan Lewis also represented Chagala Group Limited, a British Virgin Islands-incorporated company with operations in Kazakhstan, on the listing of its ordinary shares on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange. The ordinary shares were listed and admitted to trading on November 18, 2015. Chagala Group is a specialist facilities and services provider primarily serving the oil and gas industry in the Caspian region of Western Kazakhstan. The London Stock Exchange listing covers 21,250,000 ordinary shares, representing all of Chagala Group’s issued share capital. The trading code for the ordinary shares is “CGLO”. The Morgan Lewis team advising on the transaction was led by partner Carter Brod, with support from associates Konstantin Lukhnov, Sonia Namutebi and Anna Nerush.
