Stuart Jordan named Baker Botts’ global head of construction

Baker Botts LLP, a leading international energy, technology and life sciences law firm, has announced that Stuart Jordan has been appointed as the firm’s global head of construction. In this role, Jordan will lead the firm’s construction practice group, with a strategic focus on growing transactional and disputes practices related to energy and infrastructure projects.

Since joining the firm in 2016 in London, Jordan has demonstrated exceptional expertise in both front-end work and dispute resolution within the construction sector. His practice encompasses advising developers and contractors across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, with a particular emphasis on the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Jordan’s front-end practice covers a broad spectrum, including green hydrogen, power, water, transport infrastructure, oil, gas, petrochemicals, nuclear, and other industrial processes. He specialises in drafting and negotiating EPC, EPCM, and other major contracts, as well as technology licenses, professional appointments, long-term agreements (LTSA), operations and maintenance (O&M) contracts, DBFO, and other concession agreements.

The London office has greatly benefitted from Stuart’s leadership where he significantly enhanced the firm’s reputation in low-carbon hydrogen. His innovative work on the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project in Saudi Arabia, which is the world’s largest green hydrogen project to have achieved financial close, was integral.
