Squire Patton Boggs advises Republic of Kazakhstan on benchmark bond issue

Squire Patton Boggs is pleased to have advised the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan on The Republic of Kazakhstan’s successful benchmark issue of USD1.5 billion 4.714 per cent.

Notes due 2035 under its USD15 billion Global MTN Programme, listed on the London Stock Exchange and the Astana Stock Exchange, marking the country’s first return to the US dollar bond market since 2015. The bond was met with strong interest from over 100 investors globally, achieving one of the lowest spreads of any emerging markets issuer.

The international Squire Patton Boggs team, led by Tom Cerdan in Dubai, included Kopzhan Musrepov and Aigerim Assil from the firm’s Astana office, Aaron Seamon in Columbus and David Zagore in Cleveland, Tom Dell’Avvocato and Alice Moserova in London and Katarina Ottova in Dubai.
