Helmy, Hamza & Partners, Baker McKenzie Cairo advises on the United Bank IPO

Helmy, Hamza & Partners, Baker McKenzie Cairo has acted as transaction counsel in the initial public offering (IPO) of the United Bank, which is primarily owned by the Central Bank of Egypt, on the EGX (Egyptian Exchange).

The private placement oversubscribed 6x and the public tranche 59x, reflecting robust investor confidence and demand. Based on its IPO offer price of EGP 13.85 per share, the Bank has an implied market capitalization of EGP 15.235 billion (approximately USD299 million), making this Egypt’s largest IPO since 2021.
