Simmons bolsters ENRIC practice in Riyadh with key partner hire

Simmons & Simmons has today announced the appointment of Raminder Singh as a partner in Riyadh in its Corporate & Commercial practice. Singh brings over three decades of experience as an English law-qualified transactional lawyer specialising in energy, natural resources and infrastructure projects.

His career to date spans two decades in private practice with leading international law firms, followed by a decade inhouse at C-suite and senior executive leadership positions for two major corporates prominent in the energy, natural resources and infrastructure sectors. His global expertise spans project development, project finance, joint ventures, and M&A transactions.

Having recently spent four years in Riyadh as chief legal officer at a leading mining and metals company, Singh has also developed extensive on-the-ground transactional experience in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

Singh will be based in the firm’s new Riyadh office, which launched in June this year, alongside a team including office head and partner Amer Al Amr and partner Niall Clancy, as well as recently hired partner with extensive KSA experience, Umera Ali.

The appointment coincides with the recent launch of Simmons’ Energy, Natural Resources, Infrastructure and Construction (ENRIC) sector, established in response to the ever-growing volume of work the firm is undertaking in this area and its profile in the market.

Singh’s hire reflects the firm’s commitment to further expanding the capabilities of the new ENRIC sector in Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East. In addition to his’s hire, Simmons’ ENRIC offering in the Middle East has also been strengthened by the arrival of managing associate Dina Issa in its Dubai office, bringing wide experience in regional construction and infrastructure development matters with a particular focus on the KSA.
