Pinsent Masons announces Middle East promotions

Pinsent Masons has announced this year’s partner promotions, with 23 lawyers set to join the firm’s global partnership as of May 1, 2026. This year’s partner cohort spans all major practice groups and reflects strong alignment with the firm’s global strategy, showcasing continued strategic investment across the firm’s global platform, with 16 new partners based in the UK, five across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and two in Asia Pacific.

The promotions also demonstrate alignment with the firm’s ambition to be advising clients at the forefront of the forces shaping our world, making up nine partners across our Energy and Infrastructure sectors and six partners in our Financial Services sector.

Commenting on this year’s promotions, senior partner at Pinsent Masons Andrew Masraf, said, “Our promotions recognise the talent shaping the future of our business. As we develop a truly global business in both outlook and operations, this year’s promotions show the strength, ambition and diversity of talent we have across the firm. Each new partner brings deep technical excellence, commitment to collaboration, and the ability to help clients navigate their most complex challenges amidst fast changing global markets. I am proud to welcome them to the partnership as we continue to grow an ambitious, inclusive and internationally connected firm.”

Pinsent Masons’ head of Middle East Catherine Workman said, “The Energy and Financial Services sectors continue to be significant areas for growth for our teams in the Middle East. We are therefore delighted to welcome two new partners to strengthen our ability to support clients in these markets. With his depth of international arbitration expertise advising owners, joint ventures, main contractors and sub-contractors, Richard brings broad experience to bench in Doha. Similarly, Gregg’s litigation and insurance practice further expands our Financial Services capabilities out of Dubai at a time when the insurance market in the UAE is becoming increasingly centralised.”

In the Middle East, Richard Ashmore (Energy and Infrastructure) has been promoted to partner in Doha, Qatar and Gregg Hammond (Financial Services) in Dubai, UAE). In addition, Nick Tolley has been promoted as legal director in Dubai, UAE.
