Karm Legal Consultants has appointed Hillay Janebdar as partner in the Virtual Assets practice.
Janebdar is a strategic and commercially minded Solicitor of England & Wales with over 15 years’ experience advising clients across the UK, UAE (including ADGM), and the BVI. She combines the precision of private practice with a pragmatic, solutions-driven approach honed through senior in-house roles.
Her expertise is deeply rooted in the virtual assets ecosystem, spanning digital assets, blockchain innovation, DeFi, stablecoins, and crypto-financial services. She has extensive experience across token issuance and structuring, exchange and custody models, DeFi and Web3 projects, as well as navigating evolving global regulatory regimes, including VARA, ADGM, and other leading virtual asset frameworks.
She also advises on licensing, compliance, AML and sanctions, data protection, and regulatory investigations, translating complex legal and regulatory frameworks into clear, actionable guidance for boards, executives, and investors.
