Addleshaw Goddard bolsters its GCC offering

The firm has reinforced its position in both Doha and the GCC, announcing the appointment Ahmad Anani, as partner and Qatar office head.

Previously, office managing partner Middle East and Dubai at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, Anani, a Corporate & Capital Markets specialist, brings with him a wealth of expertise, which significantly bolsters the Firm’s GCC corporate practice, led by Andrew Johnston.

Since opening in 2013, AG’s Doha office has created vast opportunities for the Firm’s wider GCC offices, and Ahmad’s hire will allow the Firm to continue to increase its market-share, grow its brand reputation and develop its corporate practice locally and regionally.

Andrew Johnston, head of corporate GCC stated, “Over the past three years our corporate practice has gone from strength-to-strength and we have ambitious growth plans for the next three years. Ahmad, is well-respected in the local market, his legal expertise combined with his commercial acumen are a perfect fit for our team and will allow us to improve our ability to service existing and new clients.”

Anani will bring added bench strength to the GCC’s Corporate practice and develop its strategy for growth. This is the latest investment by AG into its GCC offices, following on from the hire of an additional three lawyers into its Dubai Construction practice.
