AMJ appoints Asad Qayyum

Omani law firm, Al Busaidy, Mansoor Jamal & Co (AMJ), has appointed Asad Qayyum as a partner to head up its Natural Resource and Islamic Finance teams.

Qayyum is a dual-qualified corporate – commercial lawyer with particular expertise in the Oil and Gas, Mining and Islamic Finance sector. Qayyum’s work includes advising clients on a range of upstream, midstream and downstream transactions in the oil and gas sector and advising corporates and Islamic banks and windows on capital market issuances and product development. As a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales and advocate of the Pakistan courts Qayyum combines cross-border expertise with an intimate knowledge of Oman law and practice gained over 4 years’ of legal practice with AMJ.

Qayyum has over 17 years of experience and prior to joining AMJ, he worked in the Corporate and Capital Markets team of a leading city of London-based boutique law firm where he advised UK-based and off-shore companies on their IPOs and various acquisitions in the mining, oil and gas and agriculture sectors across the globe. Qayyum is qualified as a barrister of England and Wales and a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales. In addition, Qayyum is an Advocate of the High Courts of Pakistan
