Data Protection and Cybersecurity easily sit within the list of top concerns for GCs in the Gulf and broader Middle East. And rightly so. This session led by Lara Haidar and Chris Haywood will not only look at the regulatory context within the region but will also talk about key lessons in guiding regional and international data users on how to meet the very serious challenges posed by data protection regulation and compliance requirements and through the risks attached to a data security breach. The session will look at how to deal practically with data protection and privacy compliance requirements. It will also cover a few of the practicalities of how to implement appropriate cyber security systems, from protocols, terms and conditions and appropriate contracting to regular audits, training, reporting and legal and technical responses.
