Baker Botts expands Dubai office with addition of global projects counsel

Baker Botts LLP announced that Chad Passlow has joined its Dubai office as counsel in the global projects department.

Passlow joins Baker Botts from ADNOC, a leading Middle East oil and gas company, where he was vice president, legal of the Downstream Industry, Marketing & Trading. He comes with 15 years of legal experience majorly in Australia, but also including the UAE and Singapore.

Passlow’s practice focuses on project financing and development of projects in energy and infrastructure in the Middle East. He advises clients in sectors of oil and gas, CCUS, energy transition, renewables including wind, solar, hydropower, conventional power and infrastructure.

The addition comes shortly after projects partner, Shane Wilson, joined the firm’s Dubai office in July. The Energy practice at Baker Botts comprises of lawyers skilled in various complementary practices that offer clients the range of legal skills and experience needed for sophisticated and complex energy and infrastructure projects and transactions around the world.
