Baker Botts hires new projects partner in Dubai

Baker Botts L.L.P. announced that Shane Wilson has joined its Dubai office as a partner in the Global Projects Department. Wilson joins Baker Botts from Squire Patton Boggs in Dubai.

Wilson has been based in Dubai for over 16 years and advises clients on projects and transactions across the Middle East, Africa and globally. He specialises in the development and financing of energy and infrastructure projects, including power, water, waste, oil and gas, infrastructure, and transportation.

“The admission of Shane bolsters our on-the-ground projects capabilities in the Middle East and gives us a more diversified practice in the region,” commented Baker Botts managing partner John Martin.

Wilson has advised lenders, governments, project sponsors and project companies in relation to a wide range of projects in various jurisdictions, including projects in the energy, utilities, oil and gas, infrastructure and metals sectors. He advises on all project development aspects and project financings, including advising sponsors and Islamic financiers on projects that have been financed in a Shari’ah-compliant way.
