Barkatali joins Hogan Lovells
Hogan Lovells has recruited partner Sohail Barkatali to join its Dubai finance practice. Barkatali joins as a partner in the Infrastructure, Energy, Resources and Projects (IERP) team.
He joins from Chadbourne & Parke in Dubai where he has been a partner since 2008. He specializes in project finance, focusing on power projects in electricity, oil and gas, water, waste-water and infrastructure. He has also advised on privatisations, sector restructuring and regulatory matters.
He regularly advises sponsors, export credit agencies, multilateral agencies, commercial banks and Government entities on projects across the Middle East and Africa. High profile clients he has advised include the Governments of Kuwait, Oman and Kenya, Marubeni, Toyota-Tsusho, JGC, EDF, IFC, Standard Chartered, Meezan Bank and Clifford Capital. He has advised on projects with BNP Paribas, Macquarie and RBS.
