Clifford Chance advises Airbus S.E.
In a landmark case involving multiple enforcement authorities, Clifford Chance played a leading role successfully assisting Airbus SE achieve a French style DPA (“Convention judicaire d’interet public” – CJIP) with the Parquet National Financier (PNF), the French criminal enforcement authority.
On January 31, 2020, rulings handed down by the French, US and U.K. courts approved a global resolution resolving an investigation led by the PNF, the U.K. Serious Fraud Office (SFO), the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ), and the U.S. Department of State (DoS) into allegations of bribery and corruption, as well as inaccuracies in filings made with the DoS pursuant to the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Partners Thomas Baudesson, Simon Davis, Charles-Henri Boeringer, and associates Sophie Lévy and Charles Merveilleux du Vignaux, had a lead strategic role in the achievement of the global joint resolution across jurisdictions, and were in the driving-seat of negotiations and resolution with the French authorities.
