Clyde & Co announces 2022 partner promotions

Clyde & Co has announced the promotion of 23 equity partners across its global network, effective May1, 2022.

The promoted partners represent each of the firm’s core sectors and each of its regions. There are 14 promotions in Insurance, five in Projects & Construction, three in Energy, Marine & Natural Resources, and one in Aviation.

A majority (16) of the promotions are outside of the UK, further underlining the global nature of Clyde & Co’s offering, with nearly 60 offices and associated offices across six continents. Eight of the promoted partners are based in North America, seven in the UK, five in the Middle East & Africa (MEA), two in continental Europe and one in Asia Pacific (APAC).

For the second time in three years, over half (12) of the promotions are women.

Roshanak Bassiri Gharb from the Insurance – Corporate practice has been promoted to partner. Roshanak is a Solicitor of England and Wales and an Italian avvocato. She is an M&A and corporate lawyer in private and public sector and has been working for almost a decade in the Milan and London offices of a leading Italian law firms. She has developed a particular knowledge in corporate insurance field by providing advice in extraordinary transactions with target companies active in the insurance and reinsurance business and daily assistance to one of the largest insurance group in Italy further to the acquisition by an American player. Roshanak has also acquired significant expertise in connection with acquisition financing and debt issuance. She has also been working in the energy field and, specifically in the oil and gas sector. Besides providing day-to-day assistance to companies operating in the oil&gas field, she has been seconded for almost one year and a half in the banking & capital market department of the Italian national oil &g as company.

She was in charge for the Iranian desk of one of the leading Italian firm in Italy, further to a period of secondment in Iran. In 2017 she was in the nominees for emerging professional of the year in Italy. Roshanak speaks English, Italian and Farsi.

Since the start of the last financial year in May 2021, Clyde & Co also made 20 partner level hires, including nine in North America, four in the UK, four in APAC, two in Europe and one in MEA. Growth also came through the opening of offices in Vancouver, Phoenix, Denver and Las Vegas, and the agreement of a merger with UK-headquartered law firm BLM.
