Corporate Finance boost for Eversheds Sutherland as Kashif Siddiqui joins the team in London

Eversheds Sutherland has appointed M&A partner Kashif Siddiqui to its Corporate Finance team. Siddiqui, who joins the global law firm’s London office from a listed retail giant, where he was head of legal, brings a repertoire of comprehensive experience and knowledge in advising on complex cross-border transactions. Having previously worked at Allen & Overy LLP, Siddiqui has held various senior roles at international law firms, most recently as a corporate partner at McDermott Will & Emery LLP and Squire Patton Boggs LLP before moving in-house for a short period.

Siddiqui’s practice spans a wide spectrum of corporate transactional work, including public and private M&A, joint ventures, strategic investments and restructuring, with significant experience in renewable energy, retail, fintech and private equity, across Europe and the Middle East. His arrival further enhances Eversheds Sutherland’s market-leading M&A capabilities, following a year in which the firm was ranked among the top 10 global legal advisors for M&A by deal volume, according to the London Stock Exchange Group’s Global M&A Review first half of 2025.

Antony Walsh, International head of corporate, Eversheds Sutherland, commented, “Kashif’s appointment is a further reflection of our commitment to investing in top talent to support our clients on their most strategic and complex transactions. His commercial acumen and international experience will be invaluable as we continue to expand our M&A capabilities. With our extensive global footprint, we’re uniquely positioned to deliver seamless cross-border coordination and consistent legal technical excellence and support across all jurisdictions, and Kashif’s arrival further strengthens that proposition.”

Kashif Siddiqui, partner, Eversheds Sutherland, commented, “I’m thrilled to join Eversheds Sutherland. The calibre of the team, the strength of the global platform, and the firm’s commitment to delivering commercially excellent, innovative advice make this an exciting next chapter. I’m particularly looking forward to contributing to the continued success of the various key practices and sectors including renewable energy and retail and supporting clients on their most complex strategic M&A transactions.”

Siddiqui’s appointment follows a number of recent hires this year in Eversheds Sutherland’s Corporate Finance capability including the appointment of partners Torsten Volkholz, Alex McCarney, Private Capital and M&A partners Kristof Slootmans and Matthias Kiesewetter.
