Covington advises on USD600 million Brookfield investment in ACME Cleantech Ventures
Covington advised ACME Cleantech Ventures, one of India’s leading clean energy enterprises, on a USD600 million investment by Brookfield to support the development and construction of an advanced pipeline of ACME’s green hydrogen projects in India and the Middle East.
The investment marks Brookfield’s entry into the green hydrogen sector in the region and combines ACME’s operating capabilities with Brookfield’s global scale and institutional capital.
The funding will support an advanced pipeline of projects in India and Oman as ACME Cleantech Ventures seeks to expand production of green ammonia and other low-carbon fuels for domestic and export markets.
The Covington team was led by Nitin Banerjee and Christoph Schulz, and included Jecolia Hern and Abraham Alheyali. Covington advised on non-Indian law aspects of the deal.
