DLA Piper promotes Bahrain-based Mohamed Toorani to its partnership

DLA Piper has announced the promotion of Mohamed Toorani to its partnership which was effective from May 1, 2021. The promotion takes the firm’s partner headcount in the Middle East to 26, with Toorani amongst 44 lawyers to have been promoted to DLA Piper’s partnership globally.

Based in Bahrain, Toorani has over 14 years of experience advising local and international clients on a broad range of corporate and finance matters, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings and share and asset transfers. He is the first and only Bahraini national to head an international law firm in Bahrain. He is also a Private Notary (English) in Bahrain appointed by His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Al Awqaf.

In addition to Toorani’s promotion to partnership, the firm has announced the promotion of one lawyer to legal director and six lawyers to senior associate across its regional offices.
