DLA Piper strengthens regional corporate capability

DLA Piper has welcomed Capital Markets partner, George Barboutis to its Middle East partnership. Based in Dubai, Barboutis relocates from the firm’s London office where he has been a partner since 2011.
US-qualified, Barboutis heads the firm’s US securities practice for the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region. He advises on a wide range of equity, equity-linked and debt securities offerings, including both SEC-registered and Rule 144A/Regulation S transactions, IPOs, and US, London, and other international listings, representing both issuers and underwriters. George’s experience covers a variety of sectors, including financial services, technology, telecommunications, manufacturing and natural resources.
Commenting on the move, Barboutis said: “With its geographical proximity to key markets such as South Africa, India, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, Dubai presents a strong hub from which to drive cross-border capital market transactions. As a firm we’re seeing significant momentum and growth in the Middle East and I look forward to contributing to this whilst continuing to expand our US securities offering across the EMEA region.”
