DLA Piper strengthens TMT team with telecoms regulatory expert

DLA Piper has recently made an appointment to further strengthen its Technology, Media and Telecommunication capabilities in the Middle East with Eamon Holley joining as senior legal consultant.

Eamon joins DLA Piper from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) in Bahrain where he was the Legal Director for five years.

The move comes as telecom operators around the region look to strengthen their understanding of regulators, their decisions and their objectives.

Eamon Holley’s appointment is an interesting move by the firm, demonstrating its commitment to the TMT space and its continuing role in the Middle East market.

“In the past, telecom operators and suppliers in the region have sought regulatory advice from outside the Middle East, largely due to a lack of on-theground expertise, however Holley’s appointment changes the landscape entirely,” commented Paul Allen, Head of Intellectual Property and Technology for DLA Piper Middle East.

Holley commented, “I am looking forward to working with our clients across the region and beyond, and to delivering innovative commercial solutions to their challenges.”
