Dowsett promoted to partner

Philip Dowsett has been elevated to international partner, effective May 1, 2015 at the firm Morgan Lewis.

Dowsettis based in Dubai. He advises clients from a variety of industries on business and finance issues in the Middle East, UK, Europe, and the Americas.

His practice focuses on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity, strategic investments, venture capital, and joint venture transactions. He also advises clients on private investment fund structuring, formation, and governance matters.

Dowsett’s clients include regional and international private equity houses and corporations, and he has experience in a diverse number of sectors, including oil and gas, energy, healthcare, media and technology, infrastructure, retail, and financial services. He has been based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for more than seven years, but he has represented clients in the region for more than a decade. Dowsett has international experience in both inward and outward investments throughout the Middle East, as well as in Europe and the United States. He is an active member of the MENA Private Equity Association and has been part of its venture capital legal task force since the association’s inception.

He began his career at another international firm in its London and Dubai offices, and he has been permanently based in the UAE since 2008 and he is part of the original team that established Morgan Lewis’s Dubai office in 2013. Dowsett is a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales.
