DWF launches tax practice in Dubai with senior appointment
DWF has appointed private client & tax director Sophia Yazane to its team in Dubai as it strengthens its offering ahead of the introduction of Value Added Tax in the United Arab Emirates from early 2018. Yazane previously worked for the big four and law firms in Dubai and Luxembourg and will be working to develop DWF’s private client & tax practice in the region.
One of Yazane ‘s main mandates will be to support DWF’s clients and Middle Eastern businesses on VAT-related advice ahead of and following the introduction of the tax across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. A large part of her work will also involve structuring & tax planning investment vehicles to preserve family wealth, minimising tax burdens and structuring family estates for high-net-worth individuals.
Yazane has over 12 years’ international tax experience advising international corporations, financial institutions and high-net-worth individuals. She has also vast experience advising and coordinating regional tax advice for international companies investing in the GCC and Africa on cross-border transactions and tax restructuring.
