Firms advise John Laing Group

Clifford Chance and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer have stepped up to advise as infrastructure investor John Laing Group announces plans to list on the London Stock Exchange.

The company, which was initially listed in 1953 but taken private by funds managed by Henderson in 2007, is seeking to raise about £130m to fund new infrastructure investments. The IPO is likely to value the company at around £1bn.

Freshfields advised John Laing on the IPO, winning the new client through its existing relationship with selling shareholder Henderson.

Corporate partner Oliver Lazenby is leading the Freshfields team, working alongside senior associate Giles Rowbotham and joint US and UK qualified corporate partner Jonathan Baird.
