Hollywood calling for Snowden’s lawyer
Edward Snowden’s lawyer, Anatoly Kucherena, has reportedly sold the rights for his novel “Time of the Octopus” to Oscar winning Hollywood director Oliver Stone. Stone is set to make a political thriller movie, with producer Moritz Borman, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Filming for the movie begins before the end of the year. Kucherena is also currently working on a story about a whistle-blower, inspired by Edward Snowden and his experiences.
The pro-Kremlin lawyer has earned a reputation of being the lawyer of choice for several celebrities, singers and directors apart from regular citizens. When Edward Snowden fled the US after disclosing the National Security Agency’s surveillance intentions, Kucherena was chosen as one of the few public figures to visit him during his stay at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport last year.
