Leah Weldon-Evans joins Simmons & Simmons in Dubai

Simmons & Simmons has announced the appointment of Leah Weldon-Evans as of counsel in its Dubai office. Weldon-Evans joins the firm from HSBC Dubai, where she served as associate general counsel, bringing with her extensive expertise in Debt Capital Markets and Islamic Finance.

Weldon-Evans will be an invaluable addition to Simmons & Simmons’ Financial Markets team, where she will work closely with partner Lee Irvine who has many years of deep experience advising financial institutions and public and private companies on a wide range of matters within conventional and Islamic debt and equity capital markets. She will offer strategic counsel to clients navigating market dynamics in the MENAT region and complex regulatory frameworks, in particular, through her in depth knowledge of AAOIFI standards and Higher Shari’ah Authority requirements. Weldon-Evans offers a strong understanding of sukuk structuring solutions, so will provide insightful guidance that enables clients to achieve their financing goals efficiently and effectively.
