Manek Palekar appointed as principal partner

Manek Palekar has joined Hamdan Al Harmi & Associates, Advocates & Legal Consultants as a principal partner, significantly strengthening the legal consultancy and the litigation team of the firm.

His core practice areas include Commercial Contracting, Corporate Incorporation, business setup and structuring, Joint Ventures & Technical Collaboration, civil and criminal litigation, Regulatory approvals and Intellectual property rights. Palekar is also adept in matters relating to labour, construction, real estate and acquisitions & mergers. Palekar’s professional experience and expertise encompasses more than 43 years of handling legal matters, out of which the last 25 years have been primarily in the Middle Eastern region.

He has a rich and an extensive experience of working both as an in-house legal counsel as well as a practicing lawyer and legal consultant and is therefore better poised to understand client requirements from a business perspective. He has successfully advised and assisted several multinational corporations in achieving profitable returns of their investments in the UAE, by restructuring of their entities and effecting commercially viable arrangements with their local partners.

Palekar is registered with the Government of Dubai – Legal affairs Department as a legal consultant authorised to practice UAE law and with DIFC. He is also an associate member of Institute of Company Secretary, in India.
