Mediclinic advised by DLA Piper

DLA Piper has advised Mediclinic Middle East on its purchase of two Dubai-based pathology laboratories from Medical Solutions FZ LLC (MedSol). Mediclinic bought the facilities for a cash consideration of AED95 million (USD25.8 million) as part of the company's continued growth strategy in the region.

The two new facilities – located at Mediclinic Welcare Hospital and Mediclinic Al Sufouh – add to the company's existing portfolio. The DLA Piper team was led by Debbie Barbour, partner – Finance and Projects, and Tim Watkins, legal director – Corporate.

Tim Watkins, legal director – Corporate, commented, “This was a significant deal, supporting Mediclinic in its efforts to bolster its presence in the UAE in the provision of first class healthcare facilities.”
