Nabarro grows Dubai team

Ravinder Bhullar has joined Nabarro’s Dubai office as a disputes partner.  Bhullar, who arrives from Baker Botts, specialises in heavyweight international construction disputes and arbitration. His lateral hire brings the Nabarro team in Dubai to three partners, including head of office Terry Fleet, four associates and two support staff.

Bhullar was admitted in Victoria, Australia in 2002, and has practiced in Dubai for over 10 years. He has extensive experience of international arbitration concerning disputes arising in the construction, infrastructure and energy sectors.  He has advised governments, contractors, consultants and private developers on a diverse range of projects, from social infrastructure and process plants.  He has particular experience of arbitration proceedings under the rules of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre, the London Court of International Arbitration and the International Chambers of Commerce, among others.  He has also represented clients before the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts, and provided strategic advice on local court litigation around the Middle East.

He has advised clients on disputes arising in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman.  In addition, he has strong business connections and contacts in Singapore and Malaysia which will provide a strong link up between Nabarro’s international hubs in Asia and the Middle East.

In September 2014, Nabarro announced the lateral hire from Dentons (Dubai) of non-contentious construction partner, Nick Kramer, to its Dubai office. He joined other Dubai based lateral hires: local construction counsel Aarta Alkarimi and commercial barrister Yousaf Said. Justin Coaley, a former Nabarro associate specialising in funds and indirect real estate, rejoined the firm in Dubai last December. Rashid Khan, a construction associate from Nabarro in London who joined the office at launch, rounds off the legal team.
