New counsel in Clifford Chance

Clifford Chance announced that 39 associates have been promoted to counsel. The promotions took effect May 1, 2014.In the Middle East, The new counsel are Ose Asemota (Finance, Riyadh) and Karim Wali (Finance, Riyadh).


Ose Asemota is a counsel in Clifford Chance's Banking, Finance and Debt Capital Markets practice in Riyadh. He has extensive experience representing multilateral agencies, development financial institutions, export-credit agencies, commercial lenders and other financial institutions in all stages of due diligence, documentation, closing and monitoring of project finance transactions (including Islamic finance transactions). In addition, he acts for lead managers and issuers in relation to Sukuk transactions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Asemota is a member of the New York Bar and practiced in Washington DC for a number of years before joining the Riyadh team in 2009.

Karim Wali is a counsel in Clifford Chance's Banking & Finance practice in Riyadh. He specialises in banking and finance and related areas and has experience acting for lenders and borrowers on finance transactions including on an Islamic basis. Wali qualified and practiced in London for a number of years before being based in Riyadh since September 2010.
