New energy lawyer for Jones Day
Jones Day announced that they have appointed EDWARD ROSE as a partner in projects and infrastructure practice. With about 20 years of experience representing governments, sponsors and contractors on a diverse range of energy and infrastructure projects, Rose has resided in the Middle East for nine years during which he lent his expertise on the development and financing of major projects throughout the region and in East Africa. His work encompasses upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas contracts; refinery, petrochemical, and heavy industrial projects; independent power and water projects; and airport and port facilities. He often also advises on the corporate, commercial, and finance transactions associated with the establishment and operation of these developments.
Rose graduated Oxford University with a B.A. Honours in Modern History and a Diploma in Arabic from University of Durham. His attendance in The College of Law, London in 1995 was followed with an admission as a solicitor in the Senior Courts of England and Wales. Rose is also recognised as a leading energy lawyer by the Chambers Global and The Legal 500. Being an eloquent speaker, he has lectured at several conferences and universities about oil, gas and construction laws in the U.K., the Middle East, Malaysia, and South Africa.
