New MDs for Norton Rose Fulbright

Charles Hurdon and Martin Scott have been appointed the new managing partners of Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP and Norton Rose Fulbright LLP, respectively. Their roles go into effect starting 1st January, 2015 for a period of three years.

Charles Hurdon will succeed current managing partner John Coleman. He has practiced employment and labour law exclusively, advising and representing employers in both federal and provincial jurisdictions, for more than 25 years. A significant component of his practice involved representing financial institutions in capital markets matters. He has extensive experience representing and advising employers in matters relating to executive employment agreements, executive compensation and executive terminations.

Martin Scott will succeed current managing partner, Peter Martyr, who will continue as global chief executive for a further three years. Scott joined the London practice in 1983 and has spent 6 years as a qualified solicitor in Hong Kong. He has been involved in a wide variety of corporate transactions ranging from private company sales and acquisitions and public company takeovers to flotation and secondary issues. He has acted for listed and private companies based in the UK, Europe and Asia but has a strong focus on financial institutions.
