New partners in Baker Botts’ energy team

Baker Botts’ LLP domestic and international energy transactional team has two additions, Car los Solé and Jerem y Kennedy joined the firm as partners. They will be based in the firm’s Houston office.

Solé and Kennedy represent multinational energy companies, stateowned enterprises and private equity interests in a diverse array of energyrelated projects and transactions in the electric power and oil and gas sectors.

They also have extensive experience advising clients on cross-border matters in Latin America.

With nearly 20 years of experience, Solé has advised clients on project finance and M&A transactions involving renewable energy and fossil-fuel power plants, LNG projects and upstream and downstream oil and gas assets. He earned his law degree and a masters degree in public affairs from The University of Texas, US. Solé was recognized by The Legal 500 Latin America 2012 for his Projects & Energy practice. He also serves on the Advisory Board to the International Bar Association’s Power Law Committee.

In his ten years of practice, Kennedy has focused on similar matters and also brings experience involving midstream oil and gas assets and other maritime projects in the energy industry. He earned his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law summa cum laude where he was editor-in-chief of Volume 34 of the Texas Tech Law Review. He serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of Energy Law360.
