Norton Rose Fulbright advises Markel on MECO acquisition

Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Markel on its acquisition of The MECO Group Limited (MECO), an independent specialist marine managing general agent with operations in London, Dubai, Hamburg and Shanghai. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.

Markel is a leading global specialty insurer that is part of Markel Group Inc, a NYSE listed company. The transaction is intended to strengthen the footprint and capabilities of Markel’s marine insurance business.

The Norton Rose Fulbright team advising Markel on the transaction was led by counsel David Bartlett, alongside partner Maria Ross, senior associate Rosemary Finn, associate Leah Mereb and trainee Rohan Odedra.
