Oliver J. Simpson joins Conyers

Conyers Dill & Pearman welcomed Oliver J. Simpson to the Dubai office on April 15, 2015. Simpson joins the Firm as an associate, and will advise on corporate, finance, investment funds and banking matters. 

He joins Conyers from the Dubai office of Latham & Watkins LLP, where he focused on investment funds, private equity, capital markets and general corporate work, acting extensively for MENA-based clients on a number of significant matters. This has included representing the Government of Dubai and the Dubai Financial Support Fund. 

He represented Investment Corporation of Dubai on its acquisition of the Atlantis The Palm resort from Dubai World; Asiacell on the first IPO in post-war Iraq; Wataniya Mobile on the first ever international IPO by a Palestinian company; DAMAC Properties on its listing in Dubai; and a number of sponsors and managers on the establishment of investment funds, in particular focusing on Cayman Islands limited partnership structures.

Simpson previously practiced with Slaughter and May in London, advising on corporate and private equity matters, and at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz in New York.
