QATAR – Clifford Chance scores role for the 2022 FIFA World Cup

The Supreme Committee for Qatar 2012 has appointed the law firm Clifford Chance to advise on its Technical Programme. This role includes giving counsel on the development of the main ‘Iconic Stadium’, which has a capacity of 85,000.

Clifford Chance has advised on a number of projects in Qatar which varies from The Pearl in Qatar, Doha Festival City and Ras Laffan II. Other ventures include advising Qatar National Bank on its acquisition of Société Générale’s stake in National Société Générale Bank Egypt; and Mannai Corporation on the acquisition of Damas International.
