RB’s GC joins Shire

Pharmaceutical giant Shire has hired Reckitt Benckiser (RB) group general counsel Bill Mordan as its new general counsel and corporate secretary, reported The Lawyer.

Mordan replaces interim general counsel Mark Enyedy who will continue as the company’s head of corporate development. Enyedy took over as GC after Tatjana May stepped down at the end of last year having held the position since 2001. RB is yet to announce a replacement for Mordan. Mordan worked at RB for 13 years and during this time restructured the company’s in-house team, coordinated a demerger and set-up a new in-house team for pharmaceutical spin-off Invidior. Before joining RB, Mordan held various legal positions within Procter & Gamble’s offices in Brazil, Mexico and Cincinnati. Early in his career he also worked as a clerk in the US Court of Appeals. He will be based in Shire’s US headquarters in Massachusetts.
