Shibeer Ahmed joins Winston & Strawn in Dubai
Winston & Strawn LLP announced that Shibeer Ahmed has joined the firm as partner and head of banking and Islamic finance in Dubai. Ahmed was previously with White & Case, where he served as head of the firm’s GCC Conventional and Islamic Bank Finance Practice. “With the addition of Shibeer to the team, we continue to focus on strategic growth of our key practice areas and markets,” said Campbell Steedman, Winston’s managing partner, Middle East. “We are excited by Shibeer’s arrival, which continues the momentum we have already experienced in growing our Dubai office, together with the firm’s Corporate Department and Project Finance Practice in the UAE.”

Over the last decade, Ahmed has advised clients on financing transactions in Europe, the Middle East, Turkey, Russia and the CIS, South East Asia, and Africa. He guides clients through highly complex financings, with a particular focus on project finance and Islamic and conventional banking. Ahmed has advised a range of financial institutions, including commercial banks, export credit agencies, and development finance institutions, on complex multi-sourced project and Islamic financings. He also advises on corporate and sovereign Sukuk issues.
