SIMMONS & SIMMONS ADVISES AMADEUS ON AGREEMENT WITH SAUDI AIRLINES

Simmons & Simmons has advised Amadeus, a leading travel technology partner and transaction processor for the global travel and tourism industry, on a major services and software solution development and implementation agreement with Saudi Airlines (Saudia). Saudia is claimed to be the first carrier to implement the new generation solution and is working in close cooperation with Amadeus to roll out the ‘Amadeus passenger revenue accounting solution’ early this year. 

Advice on specific Saudi laws was given by Simmons & Simmons’ alliance law firm in Saudi Arabia, Hammad & Al-Mehdar. 

The Simmons & Simmons team was led by Information, Communications and Technology partner, Alexander Shepherd, assisted by managing associate Raza Rizvi. Commenting on the transaction, Alexander Shepherd said, “with the expansion of Gulf carriers, we are seeing a growing requirement for sophisticated software and technology agreements amongst airlines.”
