Simmons & Simmons strengthens corporate transactional capabilities

Simmons & Simmons has strengthened its corporate transactional offering in the Middle East by hiring Noor Al Heialy as partner in its Dubai office. Joining Simmons from another international law firm, Noor brings an excellent track record advising on domestic and cross-border transactions and joint venture arrangements – with a strong focus on private equity matters.

The addition of Noor to the firm’s corporate and commercial practice in Dubai will allow the team to respond to fast-growing demand in the wider region, particularly for transactional work for leading clients in the asset management and investment funds (AMIF) sector.

Noor will also complement this with her expertise in the firm’s other key sectors – including the technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) and health and life sciences (HLS) sectors.

A fluent Arabic and English speaking lawyer, Noor has cultivated strong relationships with a number of influential organisations across the region – especially in the UAE and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Her hire is expected to significantly enhance the firm’s level of support for clients in the KSA following the forthcoming opening of its new office in Riyadh.

Commenting on the hire, James Coleman, head of Simmons’ corporate and commercial practice in the Middle East, said, “Noor is an exceptional corporate transactional lawyer with wide expertise and an ability to forge strong relationships across the region. She is a great fit for our team and as partner, she will allow us to respond to the rising demand for our advice on the most complex transactions in the Gulf – particularly in the AMIF sector.”

On joining Simmons, Noor Al Heialy said, “I’m excited to be rejoining Simmons & Simmons at a time when the firm is prioritising increased investment in the Middle East. I look forward to supporting the firm as it expands the reach of its transactional work to advise more leading organisations in the UAE, KSA and beyond.”
