Squire Patton Boggs’ Marwa Al-Siyabi makes partner in Riyadh

Squire Patton Boggs has promoted to partner Marwa Al-Siyabi, senior associate in its global Corporate Practice Group in the Riyadh office.

Al-Siyabi advises clients on cross-border M&A, equity capital market transactions, joint ventures and restructuring across the Middle East. Formerly in the firm’s Dubai office, Al-Siyabi relocated to Saudi Arabia in 2021.

Al-Siyabi is a versatile corporate lawyer whose expertise includes a wide range of complex transactions and projects for both Middle-East based and international companies and organizations in the construction, engineering, real estate, mining, energy and power sectors, as well as commercial enterprises. In addition to private sector work, she has also extensive experience working with ministries and government entities in Saudi Arabia, Oman and the UAE on various legal matters including structuring and implementation of government initiatives, as well as advising on the legal implications of strategy reforms.

In addition to client work and business development, Al-Siyabi has long been involved with a number of organizations that promote young people and the cause of women in business. She has served as a member of Young Arab Leaders, nurturing the entrepreneurial and professional development of Arab youth through mentorship and educational initiatives. Ms. Al-Siyabi has also led much of the firm’s pro bono work in the region, including legal support to Evolvin’ Women, a social enterprise that focuses on creating sustainable economies by providing learning and employment opportunities to women from underprivileged backgrounds in Africa.

“Our congratulations go to Marwa on a well-deserved promotion to partnership,” said Tom Wilson, office managing partner of the UAE offices.  “Marwa has consistently delivered excellent legal advice to clients, leading on high-level mandates and developing new business relationships. In her work she demonstrates not only an impressive technical legal knowledge, but also a finely tuned commercial awareness of local and global business needs. She has also proven herself a dedicated supervisor of and mentor to junior colleagues, as well as a committed leader in high-profile projects and initiatives to promote young legal talent and women in business. For the past two years, Marwa’s broad corporate law experience has considerably strengthened our successful team in Riyadh. As partner she will play a key role in further developing our business in the Kingdom and across the region.”

“I’m proud to have been invited to join the partnership at Squire Patton Boggs,” commented Ms. Al-Siyabi.  “The firm has given me the support and the freedom to grow, to develop my practice, and pursue my interests.  It has been a privilege to work with our team in building our regional practice, and to have developed relationships with some exceptional clients. I look forward immensely to the opportunities and responsibilities that partnership brings, and to continuing to be integral in the development of one of the leading corporate practices in the Kingdom.”
