In April 2016, Newitt was appointed by the Ruler of Dubai to the Board of the Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre (EMAC), and he currently serves on the Executive Committee of EMAC. He joins the firm from Holman Fenwick Willan LLP, where he was formerly managing partner of their Dubai office from 1996 to 2012.
