Taylor Wessing strengthens ME presence
Taylor Wessing (Middle East) LLP announced that is has added three new lawyers to its Middle East corporate offering – SARAH MALIK, ADNAN CHIDA and CANDICE COTHILL.
Malik is a UK qualified counsel and joins to head the employment team and advocacy unit. She is a specialist employment law and commercial Counsel having undertaken all aspects of both contentious and non-contentious employment law for over 15 years. Prior to joining Taylor Wessing, she practised as an independent Barrister at Hardwicke Chambers in London and is an experienced and seasoned advocate having appeared at Courts at all levels. Chida on the other hand has spent the last eight years in a leading US firm based in London and holds extensive experience in advising a broad range of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, reorganisations, joint ventures and transactions on the capital markets. Cothill meanwhile, has worked with a number of leading South African intellectual property firms and joins Wessing’s intellectual property team as a key member. She has significant experience in trademark law but also advises on anti-counterfeiting, copyright, advertising and promotion, company names and domain names.
Taylor Wessing also appointed Nick Carnell for Firm’s Dubai office as head of construction. Carnell’s appointment brings the total number of partners in the Dubai office to seven, and follows the recent appointment of Habib Ullah as a partner to lead the finance team. Carnell has been in the region for nearly ten years and acts regularly for leading developers, funders, contractors, specialist sub-contractors, professionals and insurers. He has extensive advocacy experience in all forms of dispute resolution and is a Registered Practitioner in the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts (where he issued the first claim form). He is a Chartered Arbitrator and a CEDR Accredited Mediator as well.
