Trevor Butcher joins DLA Piper

DLA Piper has announced the appointment of Trevor Butcher as its new head of Finance and Projects within the firm's Middle East practice. Previously a partner at the firm's London office, Trevor will be based in Dubai with a remit that covers all key regional markets with a focus on the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait.

Butcher brings extensive experience to the team, particularly from the transport and infrastructure sectors where he has advised on several significant PPP projects. He has a particular specialisation in transport projects having advised on the Nottingham Tram project (acting for the successful bidding consortium), the Canada Line rapid transit project in Vancouver (acting for funders), the R1 highway project in Slovakia (acting for the government) .

He also has considerable experience of advising on energy projects, in both the conventional and renewables sectors. He advised on the Mesaieed A IPP in Qatar, is involved in the Fujeij wind project in Jordan, advised on the East-West Interconnector between Ireland and Great Britain and on the Don Valley Power Carbon Capture and Storage Project.
