UD launches College of Law

THE University of Dubai, as one of the initiatives of Dubai Chamber, the launch of its College of Law and Master of Laws (LLM) program following official approval from the UAE’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research last month . The event was attended by dignitaries form the Dubai Chamber and DIFC Courts. The University of Dubai’s strong link with Dubai Chamber further opens up unique opportunities for aspiring law graduates. During the event, Dr. Harold Koster, newly appointed Director of The College of Law explained, “The LLM course, which will be offered over a period of 12 months, incorporates a rigorous curriculum with a strong focus on understanding fundamental legal principles which are essential for every law graduate and lawyer. To provide students with further knowledge in general principles of law, the modules will offer training in specialised areas such as arbitration, mediation and moot court practice, among other concentrations.” The internationally recognised program, taught in English, will consist of 11 courses which make up 36 credit hours in total and will run on a module basis with 15-week terms. Admission is currently open to Law graduates in addition to non-Law graduates.
