UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – Australia green building seminar in Dubai
THE Australian Trade Commission, Austrade, will presented an ‘Australia Green Building Seminar 2013’ that showcasing Australia’s strong record in sustainable construction.
The half-day program was supported by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The seminar was one of the Australia Unlimited UAE 2013 business seminars that showcased the numerous existing opportunities for Australia and the UAE to strengthen their ties in the green building, investment and education
His Excellency, Pablo Kang, Australian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, said the seminar was a chance to learn about Australia’s capability and experience, as well as its technology. “Attendees will have the opportunity to learn how Australia has achieved a mature green building market with more than seven million square metres of certified green building space and how Australia has provided green skills training to more than 40,000 people in the local industry. Australia now boasts some of the world’s most highly trained ‘green collar’ workers,” Kang said
Keynote speakers included Robin Mellon, executive director Advocacy and Business Services Green Building Council of Australia, James McGregor, energy systems manager, Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) Australia, Jeffrey Robinson, sustainable buildings leader, Aurecon and Catherine Startari, architect, GHD.
The speakers talked about how Australia has achieved a mature green building market of certified green building space and so on.
