UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – Consumer protection law under the spotlight

A networking meeting held recently at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry shed light on Consumer protection law and the ministry of economy’s role in the protection of consumers’ rights and intellectual property.
 
H.E Hamad Buanim, director general of Dubai Chamber stated that the economic success of Dubai is the result of a strong partnership between the public and private sectors. He added that a two-way communication stimulates an exchange of ideas on key issues and is the most important basis of the partnership which goes a long way in supporting the economic development of the emirate.
 
The ministry of economy’s effort in supporting the business environment was also stressed, through its attempt in enacting and updating legislations that regulate and encourage economic activities, developing national industries, providing services and encouraging investments while creating knowledge based economy that ensures balanced and sustainable growth in the UAE.
